Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973, inBombay,Maharashtra, a right-hand top order batsman and right-arm spinner. He has played forIndia, Mumbai Indians,Yorkshire, Mumbai and Asia XI.

He is the most accomplished batsman in the game and carry all the shots in the cricket book and invents many as required by the situation.

The little master is worshipped as a complete cricketer and has become the ideal of every up coming youngster who want to become a batsman. He is in a habit of creating records every time he enters to bat and always carry many along with him. Some of his records are listed below,

–          Highest runs in Test and One Day Internationals.

–          Highest score in ODI ( unbeaten 200 runs)

–          Most centuries in Tests (51)

–          Most centuries in ODI (48)

The run machine started his International career againstPakistanon November 15, 1989 at National Stadium,Karachiand has never looked back from there until now.

He has played 184 Tests, 303 innings, scored 15183 runs at an excellent average of 56.02, the highest of unbeaten 248 runs with 51 centuries and 63 fifties.

The 38-year old has participated in 453 ODIs, 442 innings, scored 18111 runs at an average of 45.16, the best of unbeaten 200 runs with 48 hundreds and 95 fifties.

Tendulkar has earned 99 centuries in international test cricket and requires one more to get a magical figure.

He scored his last test century against South Africa in the 3rd Test played at Newlands, Cape Town, on January 2, 2011, which was his 289th innings. He has scored century in every 5.66 innings and the next hundred was due since long.

The darling of the Cricket crowd has played 14 innings after that and could not get three figures. He was really close to that in the third Test against West Indies on November 22, 2011, played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai but was unlucky to miss it by six runs. Earlier he scored 91 runs againstEnglandon August 18, 2011, in the fourth Test at Kennington Oval,London.

The run machine scored his last century in ODI against South Africaas well in the ICC Cricket World Cup, on March 12, 2011, at Nagpur, while scoring 111 runs. It was his 438th inning which means he has scored century after every 9.12 innings. He has played four innings after that and has scored the highest of 85 runs againstPakistan on March 30, 2011, at Mohali, in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

Tendulkar has the ability to score century in any match but he needs some luck for the 100th hundred as well. Keeping in view all the facts and figures of his career it seems more likely that he will get that milestone in a Test rather than ODI. India will play next Test against Australia which starts on December 26, 2011, at Melbourne Cricket Ground which may be the venue of his 100th hundred.
