The IPL 2012 concluded on May 27, 2012 and quite a few batsmen who quitted international T20, took part in the event and put glamour in it.

We will highlight the batsmen who have opted out of the shortest version of the game at international level or already retired from international cricket but contributed with the bat in the Indian Premier League 2012.

Sachin Tendulkar – India / Mumbai Indians

The little master has played just one T20 match for the country against South Africa on December 1, 2006, in Johannesburg and scored 10 runs in the match.

Tendulkar appeared in 13 matches for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2012, scored 324 runs at an average of 29.45, the best of 74 with two fifties.

Herschelle Gibbs – South Africa / Mumbai Indians

Gibbs has played 23 T20s for the Proteas, scored 400 runs, averaging 18.18, the best of unbeaten 90 with three fifties. He played his last game against Pakistan at Gros Islet, St Lucia on May 10, 2010 and scored three runs.

The 38-year-old took part in three matches of IPL 2012, scored 81 runs at an average of 40.50 with the best of unbeaten 66.

Adam Gilchrist – Australia / Kings XI Punjab

Gilchrist appeared in 13 T20s for Australia, scored 272 runs at an average of 22.66 with the best of 48 runs. He played his last game against India on February 1, 2008 at Melbourne Cricket Ground and managed 25 runs.

The 40-year-old led Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2012, played 7 matches and scored 172 runs, averaging 34.40 with the best of unbeaten 64 runs.

Sourav Ganguly – India / Pune Warriors

Ganguly did not play any T20 for India but led Pune Warriors in the IPL 2012, played 15 matches, scored 362 runs at an excellent average of 40.22 with the best of unbeaten 47 runs.

Michael Clarke – Australia / Pune Warriors

Clarke has played 34 T20s for Australia, scored 488 runs averaging 21.21 with the highest of 67 runs. He played his last match vs. Sri Lanka in Perth on October 31, 2010 and scored 16 runs.

The 31-year-old joined late in the IPL 2012, took part in 6 matches, scored 98 runs at an average of 16.33 with the best of 41 runs.

Rahul Dravid – India / Rajasthan Royals

Dravid has played just one T20 for the national side against England on August 31, 2011 and scored 31 runs.

The 39-year-old was the captain of Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2012, played all 16 matches and scored 462 runs at an average of 28.87, the best of 58 with two fifties.

Owais Shah – England / Rajasthan Royals

Owais has taken part in 17 T20s for England, scored 347 runs averaging 24.78 runs with the best of unbeaten 55 runs. He played his last match vs. Australia on August 30, 2009 at Old Trafford, Manchester and was not required to bat as the match was washed out because of the weather.

The 33-year-old played 13 games of IPL 2012, scored 340 runs at a healthy average of 37.77, the best of 76 with three fifties.

Brad Hodge – Australia / Rajasthan Royals

Hodge has played 8 T20s for Australia, scored 94 runs, averaging 31.33 with the best of 36 runs. He took part in the last game against India at Melbourne Cricket Ground, on February 1, 2008 and contributed unbeaten 10 runs.

The 37-year-old appeared in 12 matches of the IPL 2012, and scored 245 runs at an average of 30.62 with the best of unbeaten 48 runs.
