South Africa A 341 (Simon Harmer 96, Wayne Parnell 91, Ishwar Pandey 3-67) and 5-166 declared (Dean Elgar 62, Justin Ontong 35, Shahbaz Nadeem 3-56) beat India A 201 (Cheteshwar Pujara 54, Ajinkya Rahane 36, Beuran Hendricks 5-36) and 185 (Ajinkya Rahane 86, Wriddhiman Saha 77*, Beuran Hendricks 6-27) by 121 runs.
South Africa A took a sweet revenge of their defeat in the first Unofficial Test by winning the second one as they beat visiting India A all ends up.
South Africa A plundered 341 runs in their first innings and declared the second one at 5-166 after 63 overs. The first innings of India A was squeezed for 201 and they managed just 185 runs in the second.
The second unofficial Test concluded on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at LC de Villiers Oval, Pretoria.
Earlier, the visitors started the final day of the game at 3 in 4 overs for the loss of one wicket. Their skipper, Cheteshwar Pujara, and the night watchman, Shahbaz Nadeem, were at the wicket for 2 and 0 runs. Pujara was run out on the first ball and was replaced by Ajinkya Rahane as Nadeem hit the initial four of the innings in the sixth over. Beuran Hendricks put the tourists back in their shells by grasping two wickets in the eighth over. Shahbaz Nadeem was caught by Temba Bavuma for five whereas Dinesh Karthik was caught by Reeza Hendricks without opening his account.
Rahane was stranded at his end whereas the wickets kept on crumbling from the other and Ambati Rayudu multiplied their miseries when he became the fifth victim at 18 after scoring just one run. Wriddhiman Saha joined in next with Rahane and the runs started pouring in with the assistance of a few boundaries. Ajinkya Rahane added 10 runs in the 25th over and reached his 23rd First-class fifty two overs later. Saha hit 3 fours in the coming overs and took his individual score to 32, Rahane was batting at 52 as the lunch interval was taken at 5-97 after 31 overs.
The pair started from where they left before the break and Wriddhiman Saha completed his 17th First-class half century in the 42nd over with two back to back fours. The score went past the 150 runs mark in the 49th one with another boundary from Rahane as Saha added another 2 fours in the coming overs. The commendable 160 runs sixth wicket partnership was dislodged at 178 when Ajinkya Rahane was clean bowled by Beuran Hendricks for 86 off 156 with 10 fours. Wriddhiman Saha remained unbeaten for 77 off 183 balls with 11 fours as the wicket kept on sliding at the other end. The Proteas A bowlers ripped through the late order batting within no time and the entire India A team was sent back to the dressing room for 185 after 66.2 overs.
Beuran Hendricks was the most deadly bowler and grabbed six wickets whereas Simon Harmer chipped in with three.
South Africa A triumphed in the second unofficial Test by a big margin of 121 runs and the two match series ended in a draw at 1-1.
